If you don’t laugh at this…

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

Every once in a while in the world of viral videos something comes along that no matter whether it is worth while or not… you just need to pass it on.

This is one of those things.

Now here is the deal.  The Wii Fit program is out there.  I do see great potential for this becoming a very productive tool in reducing childhood inactivity.

Just not yet.

I personally believe the makers launched this in the summer to make it better and re launch at Christmas.  Time will tell if I am right.

SO here is a pretty funny video that states my exact opinion of the Wii fit program until they re vamp it.  For now if it does get a child doing at least this great.  I would just rather see them go outside and climb a tree.

enjoy.

What happens when you surround yourself with great people?

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

I am flying home from a boot camp. Not the kind where you get your butt kicked for 20 hours a day. Well I did kind of have that experience but not completely. You see there are times when a trainer really gets to feel like he or she is making a difference.

When you are part of the top 1% of your industry you really need to raise the bar when you come home from a weekend like mine. I have been surrounded by peers and friends who are at the top of their game. They come to me for advice and I go to them for ideas and brainstorming. Together we all win and instill new ways to touch as many lives as possible.

This boot camp was an opportunity to work side by side with my peers developing new programming, creating new training techniques, and learn about new marketing and joint venture opportunities to truly make a difference in other people’s lives. Many of the big names in fitness are also well paid professionals. They are men and women, like me, who command top dollar for their time and training.

However the reason these people are so successful has nothing to do with how much they earn or how many zeros are included in their bank accounts bottom line. It is the transparency, loyalty, and passion they have for their clients and customers that enable them to succeed.

Training With Some Of The Best

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

I am going back East this week to a training conference. I am lucky enough to know and be a part of a group of trainers who are considered the top professionals in our industry. This conference will probably have 200 of the top 250 trainers in the world in attendance, which is a great group of people to be part of. I always return home with inspiration and creativity.

I am sure I will have a ton to talk about when I get back. You will probably see some new videos, more blog posts, and very cutting-edge stuff that I will put my own spin on.

You see, the secret of my success in both training and as a business owner is to take what the top people are doing and spin it. My clients say I “Bobbyize” it. Well that is what they tell me any way. Under their breath I am pretty certain I often hear more than a few four letter words.

I am pretty certain there will be a huge push for me to create a new product or two. Over the years, I have developed DVD’s, videos, and books. And each time I return from an event like this I get trainers who email me, “Bobby I really wish you would write a book on how to do this or that.” (more…)

Tired Of Not Finishing? Learn How To Get It Done!

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

Every single day I get emails or questions from my clients asking me to help them with their programs.

“I’m doing everything I’m being told to do!”

“What am I doing wrong?”

“I’m doing my cardio, intervals, eating clean, quick powerful strength routines, but I still haven’t seen any real difference in my body. What am I doing wrong?”

These kinds of questions used to baffle me. I’d think, “They seem to be doing everything right, what’s the problem here?” Then one day when I was doing one of my own training routines, it seemed to be lacking something. It was kind of “ho hum” for lack of a better word.

Then I stumbled across the answer. And since then, I’ve managed to see my progress increase. And my clients are taking their routines, fitness levels and physiques to levels they never thought possible. (more…)

Something to make you smile

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

The broken ankle is on the mend! Woo Hoo! Thanks to everyone for the emails, cards and advice.

I have been nicknamed “Wolverine” by some of my clients. For those of you who are not comic book or movie fans, Wolverine is a comic book character with an unbelievable healing power. In the X-Men movies he is played by Hugh Jackman who does a great job.

I was never a huge comic book fan, but I believe the Wolverine character is a human who has his body altered by the US Government in such a way that he can be the Ultimate Soldier. Through advanced science they created a way for him to heal almost instantaneously.

Anyway, after a short time in the cast I was able to start rehab. And this week I hope to start training again. Can’t wait.

I am not the only one who will start training this week.

For many it is back to school week. This means all those who took time off from working out this summer are back in full force. Luckily, I have had the good fortune to keep my clients motivated all summer long and many have returned close to the same as when they left.

That is ultimately what we teach in the Results Only style of training. Train hard so you can enjoy the fruits of your labor and maintain your levels indefinitely. Sure there were a few people who fell off the wagon. But many have at least maintained their progress and will now set new goals.

I have a full schedule of classes, I’m teaching or attending a number of seminars to finish out the year, and I am raring to go with new programming for my Arizona clients and all of my readers.

This week I think it’s a good idea to speak about recession-proofing your body and your life.

It has been a long time since I took economics at the University of Maryland. So I am not sure if we are technically in a recession.

However, I do know people are a little more conservative with their spending and are watching their wallets more and more. Things are a little tighter than in years past and therefore many will start to look at ways to cut corners and to find ways to save money.

Unfortunately, the gym membership and the personal training are normally very high on the list.

The Problem – your health is the last place you want to cut corners.

For now, read the article and know that I am getting back on the treadmill to get this busted ankle back in the game.

But before you do…

I thought I would send you a link to something that will surely make you smile. As any proud father would do, I am sharing a great story about Beau (my oldest). He has learned to love photography and his newest genre is time-lapse photography. He has been experimenting for the last few weeks and this is one of his latest creations. I thought it would be a nice thing to take your mind off a recession.

If you decide to look around his self-made site, remember he is a college student. College students do have a unique way of thinking and communicating these days.

P.S – Watch for the stars, lightning and planes. And of course the clouds.
