A funny thing happened on the way to… My Front Gate. I broke my ankle. Bummer.
Very long, short story… In Arizona a summer thunderstorm is not exactly a small event. We normally get a lot of wind, a ton of rain, and all in a very short amount of time (15 minutes). Everyone has to deal with it at some point and once every 4 or 5 years it will be your turn to get REALLY slammed. This storm is what they call an Arizona Monsoon. When the winds are high it changes to a monsoon with microbursts.
My turn is officially done for the next few years, I hope. While watching the water come in through the vents, around windows, and under the doors I decided the best thing to do was to go outside and push broom the rising water away from the gym.
Needless to say, growing up in NY, I am used to bad weather like blizzards and hurricanes. This was no different. So when the microburst winds picked up my front gate (around an 800 lb gate), I absolutely dove out of the way. However, I could not get all of me out of the way and my ankle took the hit. I am a fast healer, so I look forward to running on the treadmill in a few weeks.
School is back and so are all the AZ gym clients. I have added to my schedule, purchased some new equipment and I am ready to get it going.
Don’t worry internet Catalyst Coaching clients. I am adding to your routine too.
AND YES… (stop emailing me) I am going to re-open the membership for the coaching program soon, but only to a few people. I will let you know in a few weeks.
Many of my subscribers don’t ever get a chance to come to the gym. But I know a lot of you travel to Phoenix. Now that the gym has been open 6 months (Can you believe it?) all you need to do is:
- Email me and let me know that you are a newsletter subscriber
- Tell me where you are from and when you will be in in the area
And I will make sure you can take a class totally on me during your visit. So I hope you will take me up on my offer if you are ever in the area.
For now, I am in the Olympic spirit and Michael Phelps is on everyone’s radar. Very cool how this young man has shown what focus and determination can do. If you have followed any of the reporting from MSNBC.com, they did a video on his normal day and how much he eats (some days up to 10,000 calories a day). I thought I would tell you how you can eat whatever you want too.
So thanks for the well wishes on my ankle, come see me if you are in town and read on to learn about all you can eat.
